Is Cartigen A Steroid That Helps To Get Relief From Knee Pain?
I am a 62 year old woman and am suffering from.acute pain in my left knee. I was advised to take 2 cartigen capsules daily. One after lunch and one after dinner. It has been 4 days that I ve taken the capsules. Initially there eas some relief but today again the pain is acute. What should i do to get relief from the pain. I Also want to know whether cartigen is a steroid?
Cartigen is composed of 'glucosamine', which is a naturally occurring chemical found in the body. It is not a steroid compound. It helps our body to rebuild cartilage and replenish synovial fluid around the joints. It also helps prevent the breakdown of cartilage. This results in keeping the joint tissue healthy and an improvement of the symptoms of osteoarthritis. Since the onset of its action could take a little longer to show its effect, you can take regular analgesic medications to recommend by your doctor in case the pain is acute and not tolerable. Kindly take the medication as prescribed by your doctor and do the necessary follow-up as advised.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
