Is Celestamine Tablet Advisable For Rashes And Swelling On Face?

I had ct scan with contrast 2 days ago, the following day I had red rashes on my face and neck as well as swelling of the face and eyelids. I started taking Celestamine tablet 4x a day and the symptoms got better. How long should I be taking Celestamine tablet and when do I decrease the frequency of taking it to 3x or 2x a day? I am a 32 year old female, weighing 160 lbs. and I also have nonspecific orbital inflammation and had been using Lotemax and Nevanac eye drops for 2 weeks now.

Hi,

You seem to have allergic reaction for the contrast used for MRI. Celestamin is a combination of steroid and anti-allergic drug used for treating allergic symptoms. You had take 4 pills on day one, can continue with the same dose till symptoms go away (mostly one more day) and then taper it off 3 pills a day for 2 days, 2 pills a day for 2 days and then 1 pill a day for one day followed by 1 pill after a day's gap only once.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
