Hi & Welcome.
Yes, there is a marked difference between the two.
Centocor (
Infliximab) is a monoclonal antibody which acts by blocking the inflammatory mediator
tumor necrosis alfa and thus used in the treatment of
rheumatoid arthritis or
ulcerative colitis.
Whereas Kenacort-A (
Triamcinolone acetonide) is a potent corticosteroid which is used in the treatment of inflammatory conditions like
osteoarthritis,
bursitis,
epicondylitis, and
tenosynovitis.
Lateral epicondylitis ("Tennis elbow") is an inflammation of the tendons that join the forearm muscles on the outside of the elbow. The forearm muscles and tendons become damaged from overuse repeating the same motions again and again. This leads to pain and tenderness on the outside of the elbow.
It is diagnosed by clinical examination and provocative testing.
Treatment involves rest, NSAIDs,
physical therapy and Steroid injections.
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like
Diclofenac or Itoricoxib reduce pain and swelling.
Physical therapy is helpful for strengthening the muscles of the forearm and to improve muscle healing.
Using a brace centered over the back of your forearm may also help relieve symptoms of tennis elbow. This can reduce symptoms by resting the muscles and tendons.
Steroid injections may have to be injected into the damaged muscle to relieve your symptoms not responding to NSAIDs.
Hope these answer your query.
Take care.
