Is Cephalexin Effective In Treatment Of Lung Infection?
I cleaned wood chips out of a chip box on a dump truck by hand after the chips had sat inside the box for a couple of weeks. I seem to have pickup an infection in my lungs from this. I expect it is some form of a mole spore. Would cephalexin be a good antibiotic for this and if so at what dose? I am 57 years old, in overall good health.
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor services. I have read your query and here is my advise.
* Cephalexin is an excellent antibiotic of cephalosporin group and gives best results for respiratory pathogens as well.
The usual dose for an adult with good health and 57 years of age, would be 500 mg 3 times a day after meals , if there is no history of drug sensitivity to same or penicillin group of drugs where there is cross resistance commonly encountered phenomenon.
Thanks. Regards.
