Vitamin D helps in calcium absorption from gut and maintains adequate serum calcium and phosphorus concentration, without Vitamin D bones can become brittle and softer causing Rickets in children and Osteomalacia in adults. Calcium is necessary for many normal functions of the body, especially bone formation and maintenance. Taken together with Calcium, Vitamin D prevents osteoporosis (thinning of the bones) in elderly. As far as your hair fall is concerned, you need to consult a dermatologist for proper evaluation and to find out any underlying cause for it. Depending upon the cause, an appropriate treatment would be prescribed by your doctor. However, drugs like Minoxidil drops and Vitamin Biotin tablets can be used on daily basis for at least 6 months after consulting your doctor. You should have a balanced diet rich in proteins, fresh fruits and vegetables as they help in growth of hairs. Cipcal is usually not prescribed alone for the treatment of hair fall.
