Is Ciprofloxacin Advisable For Elevated Levels Of PSA?

My husband's PSA has jumped to 10 and has never been that high. He is 75 and his urologist prescribed ciprofloxacin. I am reading horrible things about it. What is your opinion about this drug. My husband is otherwise very healthy other than having 2 artificial hips.
