Is Co Trimoxazole The Right Medication For Amoebiasis?
Hi doctor! Is cotrimoxazole can be used as a treatment for amoebiasis? Thanks. I am very worried if where is my amoebas now, the result of my fecalysis examination is clear from amoeba after taking cotrimoxazole. I am afraid that those amoeba travel to my other organ.

Cotrimoxazole is not so efficient as metronidazole group of antibiotics are effective, in clearing amoebiasis
amoeba may travel to liver and can produce amoebic liver abscess.
In my opinion you should go for an ultrasound abdomen apart from stool test
