Is Codamol And Brufen Suggested For Hip Pain?

For the past five month I have suffered pain in hip, the pain goes down my hip left leg to my ankle. My Gp prescribed tramadol 100mg and gabapentin 100mg/three times daily. I would take co/dramol for break through pain.I would like to go off my medication. And take brufen and co/ codamol. Can I do this.
