Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Compazine (Prochlorperazine) is commonly used for migraine attacks. If your question is about intravenous form usually administered in the emergency room then the answer is no, it is reserved only for severe prolonged attacks. Meanwhile the oral form may be used more frequently, in fact there are several products containing an over the counter anti-inflammatory pain killer and prochlorperazine in the same pill (Difmetre is a brand I might suggest, but brands vary in different countries). Of course that is no substitute for preventive medication, only to abort attacks, if episodes are frequent then preventive medication is needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
