hi i have twins of around 10 month old. i went to check up last week and found that i am five weeks pregnant so doctor terminated my pregnancy. can you please tell me whether my health will be normal or not. i also want to know when i can insert copper t and will it hurt while insertion
Hello and welcome to HCM, The pregnancy can be safely terminated at 5 weeks under medical supervision. Pregnancy can be terminated with medications or by dilatation and curettage. Further you can use copper T for contraception. Insertion of copper T is not painful. However, certain side effects can be experienced after insertion of copper T like painful menstruation, excessive bleeding, irregular menstruation, etc. These side effects usually wean off with passage of time. The threads have to be felt for confirming correct position of the copper T. There are chances of ascending infection with the threads but can be prevented by maintaining good hygiene.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
