Is Cosvate GM Effective In Removing Black Scars On The Face And Lips?

I have black scare below my lips and on cheeks. Doctors prescribed with hydroquinone (which didnt work for me), it gave dryness since it was a compound formula with 4% kojic acid. Later, the doctor gave me tri luma with retinol A which had the same effect. One of my friend asked me to use cosvate gm. Could you advice me on this issue? Thanks

It is not advisable to to use cosvate GM to remove blac scars on the face.

Cosvate-GM cream is a corticosteroid and an antibiotic combination actually used to treat various types of skin infections associated with redness, swelling, and itching.

Since it contains a potent steroid its use can cause certain harmful effects on the skin of the face such as skin thinning, 'telangiectasia' (prominent blood vessels underneath the skin or mucous membranes), easy bruising, and striae.

So, it is not safe to use cosvate GM for the treatment of black scars on the face and lips.

I would rather suggest azelaic acid containing cream which is found to be effective and safe for your skin problem.

If there is no improvement then you should go for chemical peeling using glycolic acid or intense pulsed photo therapy to remove the black scars after consulting a dermatologist.
