Is DNA-PCR Effective Enough To Detect Viral Presence Of HIV?
Hi, It was protected sex, but with sex worker. Small wound in knee and boil/pimple like blister(open) were there. But got cleaned up immediately, after the act, with antiaceptic/aftershave solutions. Is DNA-PCR effective enough to detect Viral presence of HIV in just 4 days?. Which test is the most advisable in this very short time period? Thanks....

hiv pcr is the earliest test to become positive. but it is usually comes positive after 2 weeks and more accurately after 3 weeks. most confirmatory earliest test for hiv is p24 antigen test. which comes positive after 21 dasys.
