Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had gas and a dry cough with post nasal drip. This cough I ve had for about 8 weeks, but these last few days it s gotten worse. I ve also had a bit of acid reflux despite taking Dexilant. No one can seem to figure out what s wrong. I don t smoke or drink.
Dexilant (Dexlansoprazole) is used to treat certain stomach and esophagus problems (such as acid reflux). It works by decreasing the amount of acid your stomach makes. It relieves symptoms such as heartburn, difficulty swallowing, and persistent cough. This medication helps heal acid damage to the stomach and esophagus. but cause for the cough is not the acid reflux then you should get an opinion from the pulmonologist to fix the issues. prolonged cough should be treated properly.
