My grandfather had Diabetes all his life. What I want to know is can it be inherited? Nobody else has Diabetes but can the disease be inherited from grandfather to granddaughter?
Diabetes is known to run in families. In case your grandfather had it, it might be possible for you to get it even if no one had it. Its a matter of expression of the genes carrying the diabetes in an individual.
It is a known risk factor to have diabetes in future, if any of your relatives suffer from diabetes. But not necessarily that you should end up having diabetes.
There is nothing much you need to do- Please take it relaxed and cool. if you manifest any symptoms of diabetes, get yourself checked.
