Is Doxycycline Advisable For Sinus Infection?

I just returned from picking up Doxycycline Hyclate 100mg for sinus infection. Reading material make me too frightened to take it I am allergic to Penicillin . What would be better to take I seldom have taken antibiotics I think I have taken zythromycin ilsab

Thanks for asking.
In case of sinus infection (with yellow nassl discharge/pain in sinuses/recilurrent colds)..antibiotic becomes must for cure. Better to avoid Penicillin if you are allergic to it.
Ideally for chronic sinus problem ... ideally culture &sensitivity test should be done before starting antibiotic &take suitable antibiotic under an expert ENTspecialist's guidance... &with due observation to note early allergic signs (skin rash,itching in skun,eyes,throat,difficult breathing)
If infection is azithromycin sensitive...that should be preffered.
