Is Duphaston Effective In The Treatment Of Irregular Periods?
Hi, I am 45 years old with history of endometriosis and ovariectomy, having irregular periods, sometimes I miss periods for 2 or three months. I thought to take something to regulate my period, is Duphaston best choice for me? and how should I take it?
Hi, I think you should go for a evaluation first to find the cause of irregular periods. Get a thyroid profile and prolactin level done. Also you can be having premenopausal symptom. So, do a serum FSH evel to see if you are going to attain menopause. If it is very high, that means you can be having menopause. So, there is no need to take medicines to get your periods. If it is fine, you can take duphaston 10 mg twice a day from day 16 to day 25 of your periods to get the periods. Discuss with your doctor regarding this. Hope it helps.
