EVD (external ventricular drain) is needed if there is blood in the ventricles or if there is dilatation of ventricles. Based on the information provided by you, we are not sure whether she has any of the above two situations.
For
brainstem bleed as such, EVD is not needed.
Please upload a report of
CT scan of brain. Then, we would be able to advise regarding the need of EVD and also the likely outcome.
