Is Ehlers–Danlos Syndrome Dangerous?

I am 51 yr old female, I weight 116 lbs and am 5 1 . Having moderate pain in right hip joint. Mostly during weight bearing functions such as walking up stairs. It is growing increasingly worse I ve been diagnosed with Ehler s Danlose Syndrome (sp) - how severe is this? Waiting on MRI results. Thank you.kaye_sayy

Hi,

The connective tissue is not strong in Ehler Danlos. Mostly it is big joints falling apart as the main problem but the structure of blood vessels and heart valves might also fall apart and cause death. This is not generally a rapid process and can be looked for periodically to make sure it isn't happening.
