Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
By looking into your report, your triglyceride level is extremely high and HbA1c seems to be fine, but can still be reduced further.
Excess of
glucose is converted to fats in the body, which would contribute to raise in triglyceride levels. Hence, consumption of less calories and complex carbohydrates along with exercise should help in bringing down triglyceride level.
Fenofibrate helps reduce
cholesterol and triglycerides (fatty acids) in the blood by activating the metabolic pathways in cells, which would utilise triglycerides.
Consumption of meat and alcohol would increase your uric acid level. Hence, you need to avoid them to keep your uric acid under normal levels. This would help you to reduce the dose of
Allopurinol.
Commonly reported side effects of fenofibrate include: increased serum aspartate aminotransferase and increased serum
alanine aminotransferase due to
hepatic dysfunction. However, it can be countered by taking appropriate dose and regular
liver enzyme monitoring once in 3 months.
Statins block the enzyme in the liver that is responsible for making cholesterol and hence, lowers the level of cholesterol in the blood.
Consumption of Omega-3-fatty acids would be helpful and you can start its consumption after a month or so.
Kindly take the medications and do the necessary follow-up as advised. Gradually, you should see improvement and get better.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
