What Does My Blood Test Report Indicate?

GM Doctor! I m having a problem f high triglyceride 466 mg/dl & cholesterol 300 mg/dl with hdl level 44/dl. I was prescribed by the doctor for Rosuvastatin 20mg+Fenofibrate 160. Can I go for Rosuvastatin 10+ Fenofibrate 160. If yes how long I should use it..

Hi,

Rosuvastatin acts as a lipid lowering agent and is used to reduce cholesterol, LDL as well as triglycerides and increase HDL levels. Fenofibrate is also used to reduce triglycerides as well as cholesterol and increase HDL levels. These medications should be taken in the dose and duration as directed by the prescribing doctor. It may be possible for some patients to stop consuming lipid lowering agents safely, but it can be dangerous for other people.

Stop taking these medications abruptly, may increase lipid panels and can't reduce the risks of developing strokes and heart attacks in the near future. So, it is not recommended to stop or change the dose without informing the prescribing doctor first.
