My primary doctor just put me on fosomax. I had a bone scan and discovered that I had some osteoporosis in my hips but not in my spine. I have not been having any pain and thought I was doing well. I am an 80 yr old female. He wants to put me on Fosomax, which I have already started with my first dose yesterday. I have stage III kidney disease with a GFR of 31. Is it safe to take this drug with kidney disease. I asked him about it and he said it was safe but now I have my doubts after reading the pamphlet that comes with the drug.
