Is Frisium Necessary For Treatment Of Fever And Cold In A Child?

Hello Doctor, My daughter is 3yrs 2 months old and her weight is 10kg only. She is suffering from fever and Cold since yesterday night. At night I just gave her 5ml Metacin And today morning I gave her Tab. Mox, 2.5 ml Recofast, 5ml Metacin. Is this the right dosage? Also she is fine now but her head is still warm than normal body temperature. When she was 9 months old she had suffered from febrile convulsion and doctor has asked us whenever she has fever above 100 deg., she should be given Frisium half tablet. Is that necessary to give her Frisium whenever she has fever and upto what age shall I treat her with Frisium? Regards, Asmita Nagothanekar

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for asking question on health care magic.
Frisium is given along with other medicines to prevent febrile convulsions.
Usually children suffer from febrile convulsions from 6 months to 6 years.
Once he is older than 6 years you need not not give frisium.
By that time the brain will mature and able to resist convulsions at the height of temperature.
Hope this answer will serve your purpose
Please feel free to ask any more queries if required
