General & Family Physician, Dr. Prakruthi's Response
Hi is the rash itchy? Painful? Red? And discharge or pus? I would suggest using an intense moisturizer like petroleum jelly or cold cream (non scented) and fuscidic acid three times a day. If the skin is not sensitive and red u can even mildly exfoliate the skin the ensure better results. Be very mild with exfoliation and if you are not sure it's better to avoid it all together. If there is discharge pus or redness you can use T. Bact ointment instead of fuscidic acid. Even after the rash heals you can expect some residual pigmentation which will reduce over time. I hope this helps. Take care.
