Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been detected for granulatous lymphdenitis wfhich favours TB after the biopsy . The medistinal lymph node was found enlarged by size 3.1x1.6x1.6 cm . I am 40 yrs old and weighing 84 kgs . I donot have any other symptoms of TB . I have been put on ATT. My question is that is this contagious to my wife and kids of age 4 and 11.
Yes it is contagious illness but less contagious than pulmonary TB etc which can spread in droplets. However, other causes through which you got the TB lymphedinitis in first place and others are also exposed to same stimulus can cause the same.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
