Is HBA1C Level Of 6.5 A Cause For Concern?

I am a female 54 yrs. old. 185 lbs. I was diagnose with diabetes in October 2015 when my physical exam showed A1C 6.5. I do not check my sugar daily like I should . I am taking Metformin 2 a day. I just separated from my boyfriend of 12 yrs and hardly eat. I also take Azelastin nasal spray in the A.M. My question is, what could be causing the irregular heart beat I feel 2 or 3 times a day for the last 3 weeks?

Allergist and Immunologist 's  Response
Hello,

I suggest you check your level of glucose in the blood often especially in this period that you are under stress. You also have to measure your blood pressure and heart rate.

Diabetes can cause heart diseases. Anyway, this might be a situation caused by stress but not to be neglected.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
