Is HIV Infection Possible If Blood Stains Contact A Needle Scratch?
i was at a restaurant where i squeezed some lemon on my hands. i pulled out a tissue from the tissue box and wiped the palm of my both hands. while wiping i saw red dots on the tissue and which couldnt tell if they were blood stains or red ink. i had a needle scratch on the top of left hand and not in my palm. is it possible i can catch HIV this way, i very much worried and cant sleep !! the incident just happend two days ago.
It is extremely unlikely that you contacted HIV. Fairly fresh blood would have to pass from the tissue directly into an open cut for transmission to occur. You don't know for sure if the red dots were even blood, and even if they were, they are too small and old to carry any virus. Plus you did not contact an open wound. So don't worry about HIV. You are okay! Hope this helps.
