Sir, self suffering from Portal vain throboises, for the same dr advised me for taking Heptral 400mg twice daily for last almost 4 years...Would like to know is it worth taking Heptral for such a long time and will it be useful on lever..vishwajit...

Heptral is not used for the treatment of portal vein thrombosis. Rather it is used widely for the treatment of fatty liver disease secondary to alcohol intake. For portal hain thrombosis, anticoagulant therapy is needed for which you require hospital admission. Consult a medical specialist in some hospital for admission & treatment.
