Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Dear Doc, My Son is premature baby at 32 weeks, now he is 3 months. A homeo Doc prescribed Dabur Honitus - honey based cough syrup. We gave around 2 to 3 ml in the past 3 days and found reviews that it s not good for below one year olds. My question is, do I need to consult a pediatrician now and is this quantity harmful.
Exclusive breast feeding only is advisable for less than 6 months baby. You have not mentioned any symptoms of the baby for which the doctor was consulted.Avoid honey and other products since it can cause infections.
Hope that was helpful.Let me know if i can assist you further.
