Is I-pill Always Associated With Withdrawal Bleeding?

On 20th Feb I had unprotected sex with my partner. On 21st Feb I took an ipill (before 24hrs). On 22nd Feb we had protected sex, but I didn t take any contraceptive pill. It s 25th Feb now and I haven t had my withdrawal bleeding yet. Also I caught cold, cough and fever (which is better now). And since past 2 day I m showing symptoms of frequent urination even though the amount is very less. Do I have STD or UTI or should I be worried about pregnancy? Please help!

Hi Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
No withdrawal bleeding(breakthrough bleeding more appropiately) is not a must post intake of emergency contraceptive like I-pill. Breakthrough bleeding could occur within 3 weeks of intake of the pill, so it may follow soon. Breakthrough bleeding is a sign that intake of I-pill was successful in preventing pregnancy through disruption of menstrual cycle. However in some cases withdrawal bleeding may be absent & still the woman may not get pregnant
The symptoms like cold, cough and frequent urination should be associated with some infection or UTI. It should not be related to pregnant. because pregnancy should not cause symptoms so soon.

If you miss breakthrough bleeding or your periods you should then go for a pregnancy test.

Don't worry you would be fine
