Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello Dr, I am Mrs. Namrata M, a resident of Vadodara. We have been married since 5 years now (Marriage : May 2010) and do not have children yet. We have undergone all relevant fertility medical check ups and found all reports to be normal for both me and my husband. We had a pregnancy back in Sep 2012 which leaded to D&C as baby s growth stopped in womb at 6 weeks. After that pregnancy, we have been trying for over 2 years now with no success. We have been on sub-fertility medications for over a year now. We cannot got for costly treatments. I have read that IUI treatment is less expensive and effective. Can you suggest if IUI would be a good option for us or what can we do best to conceive? Regards, Namrata M.
Yes, intrauterine insemination (IUI) is an effective method. But if you have antiphospholipid antibody syndrome, fetus can't be viable for long time. Because in this disorder, antibodies are produced by your body against the fetus and they cause fetal death.
So please talk to your gynecologist about this and confirm that you don't have auto antibodies. Success rate of IUI is high otherwise.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
