Is IV Infusion Of Cyclobenzaprine Advisable For Muscle Spasms?
Your 34 year-old patient, Sara Fogerty, is experiencing severe muscle spasms. Her physician orders 50mg of cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril) to be given IV (stat). You contact the pharmacy, as your unit only has cyclobenzaprine tablets stocked. Discuss how you will safety administer this medication. Can you please help me with this? I m a nursing student and I ve done the research and still don t know the answer! I m just guessing that the same amount of drug will be administered in tablet form. Please let me know if you can help. Thank you.

I really appreciate your concern, if this is the muscular spasm then it can be best treated with Tab Chlorzoxazone with Diclofenac instead and it will give the same effect as seen in parental root, hope this information helps.
