Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I accidentally took Ibuprofen 800 with my Celecoxib 200mg capsules that I need for a painful Sciatica. I am concerned since I am reading about interaction of drugs. I know I should only take Acetaminophen for the pain with Celecoxib 200mg. Will this leave my system anytime soon?
Celecoxib is a non-steroid anti-inflammatory drug (selective COX-2 inhibitor) and it is risky to take another NSAID due to increased risk of bleeding.
However; there is no need to worry about for one instance. Consume plenty of water, take proton pump inhibitor if you have a tender stomach and there will be no problem.
May you recover soon
