Is Imitinef Mercilet Effective Against Multiple Myeloma?

hello doctor my father is suffering from Multiple Myloma 3rd B stage. He is under treatment for 5 yrs. I heard that something medicine called Imitinef Mercilet. Which cures disease. is it true. Can we go with this medicine. My humble request for you to answer on this.

Imitinef Mercilet is the trade name of Imatinib Mesylate. It is used in treatment of Chronic Myeloid Leukemia.
It does NOT have any proven benefit in treatment of Multiple Myeloma.
