Is Imodium Pill Effective In Managing Stomach Cramps?
I have just been diagnosed with colitis and have been giving myself enemas (Mesalamine) every night for a week. (I have a supply for three more weeks.) Can I take 1/2 of an Imodium pill to ease cramping so that I can go to work? Cramping is worse in the morning and can go on for two hours or so with diareaia (sp?) Would appreciate your advice. Nancy Q.

Imodium is not used to treat cramping. It is an over the counter medication to treat diarrhea. I would recommend a spasmolytic instead, such as Buscopan 10 mg.
