Is Iritinib Safe To Be Taken While On BP Medication?

I have CLL and got MSRA on my elbow. Take a mild BP med. Been on this for 5 days. Have had headaches severe for three days. Checked BP yesterday 172 over 101. Never ever in my life been so high. I am not overweight but on oral chemotherapy Iritinib 140 mg three times per day. Should I continue? Are there sides effects with the two drugs together?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Irbutinib causes headache, vomiting. but the rise in blood pressure may be due to stress or anxiety. Reduce salt intake. Avoid grapes or orange during Irbutinib treatment. You can take both medicines without any other effect.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Nirav Nimavat, General & Family Physician
