Hello. I recently had a cardiac workup including EKG, treadmill stress test and echo. Only the echo showed severe LVH with 60% EF. I was referred to a cardiologist for a consult, who took another EKG, which also was normal from the one done ten days prior showing no LVH. I have never had high BP. His opinion was that possibly the echo was not performed accurately or the doctor reading the echo may not have looked at it closely enough, as he said I have no other symptoms to suggest is condition. He wants to do a repeat, and told me he wasn t saying I don t have LVH but wants a repeat to confirm. My only symptom that I could relate to this condition is that when I stress my heart rate very high, say to 155, walking very very fast, I do get a chest tightness sensation, only way I can describe it, no chest pain, and it subsides as soon as my HR returns to normal. The doc told me anyone age 65 might experience that same sensation going that fast, and told me to slow it down. Is it possible to have LVH with no high blood pressure, or is it possible there is a technician or a reading error? Thank you!
