Is Laisix Used For Cough Or Pneumonia ?

Mom fell and fractured her hip and had surgery she has 20percent heart ejection and they did xray today had said some issues with the lungs and put her on Laisix.Is this for cough and will this lead to pneumonia.? She is going to rehab tommorrow is it to soon?

LASIX Is a diuretics , which helps in taking out extra fluid in the body, fluid can get accumulated any where in body , in various conduction related to heart and lungs , It is given in order to decrease the pressure on heart . Occasionally Pneumonia can lead fluid to fill up , So this medication will remove the excess amount of fluid. And relives the patient.
