Is Lasix Tablet Effective In Removing Excess Fluid After Spleen Removal Surgery?

my husband had his spleen removed two days ago. He has myelofibrosis and the spleen was removed after 43 blood transfusions. He was diagnosed in March 2012 and is 66 years old. When they released him from the hospital his scrotum was and is the size of a canteloupe and the penis is twisted and huge. Everything is red from the balls to his belly button. Should he take a lazicks? tablet that his oncologist/hemotologist gave him between blood transfusion so he would get rid of excess fluid?

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, if the swelling of scrotum and penis is concern the it could be due to allergic condition and infection and it can not be treated with diuretic without confirmation it is advisable to discuss this with doctor once the patient is under medical care then it is nothing to worry because best care will be taken there hope this information helps.
