Is Lisinopril The Cause For Tickling In Throat And Severe Cough?
I take lisinopril for htn. I have developed a tickle in my throat followed by coughing to the point of gagging and a flood of water out of my eye. Tickle and tearing always on right side. Is this due to the med or more likely alley related rhinitis? YYYY@YYYY
Understanding your concern. As per your query you are wondering if Lisinopril is the cause for tickling in throat and severe cough . The most probable reason for your symptoms is GERD or acid reflux. The symptoms can also occur due to side effects of certain medicine like you mention in quer you also discuss with your doctor about it . This causes irritation or rashes in throat and dry cough . I would suggest you to eat light and non spicy food , take small meals after every 2 hours , do not eat late night , take you food at least 1 hour before going to sleep. Consult gastroentrologist for proper examination . Doctor may order ambulatory acid prob test , X-ray of digestive system and endoscopy. He/she may prescribe proton pump inhibitor (omeprazole) , H2 blocker to prevent production of acid (ranitidine) , antacid (maalox).
Hope your concern has been resolved.
