Is Lithium Citrate Effective In The Treatment Of Autism?
My son s doctor is suggesting Lithium citrate oral for my 26 year old son who is diagnosed with severe autism. My son has self abusive behaviors which sometimes ramps up to head butts to his caregivers. Question: Can the liquid be given without food? Also, any thoughts about Lithium? My son is currently on Latuda, which is starting to lose it s ability to keep him calm.
As your son is diagnosed with autism and treatment is lithium, you will definitely get results as per recent evidence.
It's better to take lithium after some food. Lithium has also some side effects like nausea and tremor. So kindly consult a physician if you found any toxicity of lithium. Otherwise, you can continue with it.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
