Is Lodocaine 2% Gargle Safe For Sore Throat?

hi.. i live in USA and had really bad pain / sore throat last eve i took one azee and febrex plus but it didnt do any thing.. i went to see doc this morn and they check for strep.. luckily no strep but pain is still there.. they gave me lodocaine 2% to gargle 4 times wih 200 mg of ibrufen 3 times a day
