Is Lomexin T Safe During Pregnancy?

Dear doctor, I am 32 weeks pregnent, I have been prescribed Lomexin t 1000 mg 1 vaginal tablet.. I am not sure if thats safe during pregnancy.. lately I was having some vaginal discharge without any burning sensation which my doctor said is bacterial infection..please help

It is not recommended during pregnancy.
Lomexin-T (Fenticonazole) is commonly prescribed to treat vaginal infection caused by the fungus (thrush). It is not effective in the treatment of vaginal infection caused by the bacteria. It's a Pregnancy category 'C' drug as its safety in pregnancy is not well established.
You should consult your treating doctor for an alternate effective but safer medication like Nystatin which is minimally absorbed & thus unlikely to cause any harmful effects during pregnancy.
