Is Loratadine Safe For Seasonal Allergies In Children?
my 6 year old daughter has seasonal allergys and has been perscribed loratadine. she has a runny stuffy nose and sneezing but im sure this is a cold. i gave her loratadine last night and im woundering if i should continue giving it to her. it will help her cold symptoms?
I went through your history and would like to make suggestions for your daughter as follows:
1. Loratadine is usually safe in right doses and timings for children. Common side effects are sedation and drowsiness.
2. It is helpful in both seasonal allergies and cold symptoms.
3. My personal suggestion is not to self-medicate a child. It is usually best to consult a doctor and get a child examined by the doctor and then to give medicines.
Hope above suggestions will be helpful to you.
Wish your daughter the best of the health and a very good recovery ahead.
Thank you & Regards.
