Hello N,

I can understand your concern. You do not need to feel ashamed of your problem as the fungal infection you are suffering from is very commonly seen in day-to-day practice.

As you are applying only topical cream, it might not be enough to control the infection that is there for 3 months. I would advise you to take systemic antifungal drugs. I would advise you to take Fluconazole 150 mg (Fole) once a day for 7-10 days. The infection should resolve by the end of 10 days' medicines. You can continue to antifungal cream you are using or switch to Betnovate-C (Betamethasone + Clioquinol) 2-3 times a day.

In addition, while having good hygiene measurements with cold or warm water regularly, try to restrict your use of scented soaps and perfumes, bubble baths and hot tubs. Wear loose cotton clothes instead of tight fitting clothes.

If you do not find relief in 10 days, you should go for a swab analysis of the area along with blood test to determine complete blood count.

I hope this answer helps you. Thank you for choosing HCM. Let me know if you have follow up questions.

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
