Is Lyme Disease And Seizure Interrelated?

Is there any link between Lyme Disease & seizures ? I have had two seizures in the past two years, both during the night & I did not know hat they had happened til I woke up in hospital. Both times the EEG & Scans showed nothing abnormal. Is it possible that I might have Lyme disease which caused the seizures?

Hello,

Any disease which has effect on brain in its worst presentation can present with seizures and Lyme disease is also one of them. I would recommend you to go for common causes of these long standing seizures like a genetic origin. Structural brain damage secondary to head injury or a severe infection of brain in childhood or a viral infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
