Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had an aneurysm repair on May 16, 2016 by way of an angiogram. My physician used a stent to open the vein below the aneurysm and placed coiling in the aneurysm to prevent blood from going into it. This is my third aneurysm in 30 years. The first two were repaired by craniotomies and metal clips were placed in my brain. Is it safe for me to have a MRI with the clips in my head?
So some of the metal clips are compatible with MRI and MRI can be safely done. You have to ask the details of metal clips from your surgeon and then discuss the detail with he radiologist performing MRI.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Loveleen Sharma, General & Family Physician
