Is MRI Scan After CAT Scan A Normal Procedure?

ive had palpatations for 1 year with various symptoms,its only recently ive forced my gp to do exstensive tests,2 weeks ago i went for a c.a.t scan,the consultant has seen the results and now i have to go to have an m.r.i scan tommorrow,would there be something he has picked up in the c.a.t scan or is this standard follow up procedure...regards

It is usual and standard protocol to proceed with an MRI after and CT scan depending on the findings or lack of findings on your prior scan.
