Is Magnesium Glycinate Advisable While On Crestor For Lower Back Pain?
Hi I have a quick question. I have degenerative disc disease that is called severe in my MRI report and have been seeing a chiropractor. I also do injections in my back. My chiropractor said I should start taking magnesium glycinate to reduce some of the low back and leg pain I have been having. I also take crestor and a low dose anti anxiety medication. Will adding the magnesium affect any of these other drugs or my muscle pain?
I can understand your concern. Magnesium glycinate contains small amount of magnesium which is considered good for bone health. However, I have little doubts regarding its helping potential in severe degenerative disc disease. I would advise you to talk to your doctor once about its need in your case.
To answer your question, Magnesium Glycinate does not interact with crestor or any anti-anxiety medication. You can safely take it along with your current medications. However, if need arises that you have to take other medications in addition to these, do not forget to ask your doctor about possible interactions with Magnesium pill as you did now.
I hope this answer helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic for your concern. I wish you feel relief in pain soon!
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
