Is Medihoney Gel The Right Medicine For Open Pores?
Hello, I have seen a wound care specialist and they have me changing a dressing on my open sores and told me to use Medihoney gel. The sample they showed me contained 80% active Leptospermum Honey. When I went to purchase it, all I can find contains 100% Manuka (Leptospermum) honey. Is there any difference between the two that would cause me to not use the 100% formulation?
Medihoney gel contains 100% active Leptospermum honey (80% Active Leptospermum Honey and 20% natural gelling agents) in a hydrocolloid suspension. Supports the removal of necrotic tissue and aids in wound healing. It is recommended for wound & burn dressing.
It is indicated for dry to moderately exuding wounds such as diabetic foot ulcers, leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, first- and second-degree partial-thickness burns, donor sites, and traumatic or surgical wounds.
Kindly use the medication as prescribed by your doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ashakiran S,
General & Family Physician
