Is Meftal Spas The Right Medicine For Stomach Pain?

My wife is suffering from loose motion and stomach pain since night last. She had gone 4-5 times for passing motion. She also has stomach pain.I had given her o2 in morning .after 30 min i also gave her meftal spas tab for stomach pain. Now since motion has stopped but pain still persist, can i give her meftal spas again for stomach pain?

Hello and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist,i can understand your concern.
You should mention her age and other medication being taken.
Meftal spas is an anti-spasmodic, and ,may be repeated in 8 hrs.
But the proper procedure is to see a doctor, then do certain tests like,:
1. stool routine .
2. blood routine,creatinine, RBS,LFTand platelets.
If the pain is recurrent,an ultrasound scan of the abdomen should be done.
According to the reports,proper treatment will be advised.
In general,a loperamide is given for relief,if there's no contra-indication.
